Important Bulletin about Seattle Music Scene

From The Seattle Nightlife and Music Association (SNMA)
http://www.seattlenma.org

Yesterday City Councilmember’s Clark and Drago issued a press release and briefing paper outlining a series of proposals in response to the Mayor’s proposed nightlife regulations. http://seattlenma.org/downloads/clark_release  press release herehttp://seattlenma.org/downloads/clark_brief
the briefing paper here.Councilmembers Clark and Drago are proposing a series of actions that if, taken together, would be for more egregious than what the mayor originally proposed. These actions include:Embracing the mayor’s proposal of creating a new nightlife license which would be used to close down clubs at the discretion of the city.Significantly increasing fines for noise violations from $500 up to $6000.Amending the current nuisance ordinance so the city could more easily close down clubs.Requesting the mayor to consider even more regulations on nightlife establishments.
If this entire package were to be adopted, Seattle would have some of the most stringent nightlife regulations in the country.

It appears that Councilmember Clark is intent on seeking approval of all elements of the package! This would have a devastating impact our music industry!!

Your voice needs to be heard now and loud. First, email the City Councilmembers today.   And then attend the MONDAY June 4th public hearing on this package. It begins at 5:30. Get there early to sign up! This hearing is in the City Council Chambers on the 2nd floor of City Hall located at 600 - 4th Ave downtown.

Below are the emails to the councilmembers: the area code is 206

Whisky Chaser

Please Re-post... help spread the word!

********************************************
WHISKY CHASER (England) IN THE NORTHWEST NOV 30TH-DEC 3RD- PRESS RELEASE:

Whisky Chaser is an amazing five piece Scottish Irish/ Folk/ Punk band from England and have been described as Mad Power Folk with drums, whistles, guitars, bagpipes, bodrhans and mandolins playing old familiar Scottish and Irish tunes in unfamiliar ways. While wearing the kilt of course!!

The band got together 3 years ago, and they have quickly built up a good following of the very young to the positively ancient and those in between. Whisky Chaser is not fussy..they love everyone!

At the moment they have about 2 hours worth of material and growing..during their long shows Whisky Chaser usually has to take a break halfway to top up on liquid.....

Whisky Chaser currently has 1 album out entitled "Rantin 'N' Rovin", available from the website, chocked full of Scottish and Irish goodness and the yet untitled EP is awaiting mastering, should be out in the new year.

If you're big a fan of The Pogues, Flogging Molly, The Real McKenzies or Dropkick Murphies you're not going to want to miss this! Come out and support Whisky Chaser as they play for the first time EVER in the States. They are leaving their cozy homes in England to come to the NW and rock faces off! Check out 2 of their new songs featured on my myspace site now.

SHOPPING ALERT!

If you haven't been to H-Mart in Federal Way I highly recommend it. Bargains galore. Today I went and found that not only were bananas 29 cents a pound, but that there was a special on canned silkworm larvae in teriyaki. Only 99 cants a can.

Hi my name is Kimberly.

I have a problem. I moved to seattle about 2 or 3 months ago. I left everything I owned and loved in Idaho.
The only thing I brought with me is my dog. He turned one year old on the 30th of july.
He is brindle and white pitbull.

currently he is staying with a friend in his apartment, which is not allowed, My friend is moving out of state very soon and Im in need of a care taker of my dog.

He gets along with ALL other animals, cats, dogs, bunnies, horses, hedgehogs, lizards, everything!

Hes a very sweet very well trained pup, he just needs a home untill Mid-September.

Here are a few pictures of him,

Who does delivery?

I live in Auburn. I want food delivered to me that isn't pizza. Do I have any options?

I'd also be willing to do takeout from awesome Chinese places. (The Asian buffet in Kent is pretty yuck, though.)
